Grip Biomechanics

Part geometry, proportions and size are all critical for handheld products. These forms will dictate how the product is held and manipulated in one’s hands. We have conducted comprehensive studies with numerous clay and 3-D printed models based on intuitive gripping of various subjects. Information derived from these grip biomechanics studies have influenced the final aesthetic shape and size of countless handheld devices designed by Integrated Design Systems.
